    New Closet - Thursday September 4th 2008

I woke up this morning to a loud crash... my wire closet shelving gave up the ghost and my clothes and everything in the closet ended up on the floor.

So I only worked a half day then went to Home Depot. On previous closets we have custom built shelving however it was a lot of work and I currently don't have a lot of time. So we decided to try out some modular closet shelving. I was able to put up 4 sets of shelves (2 types stacked double high) and three rods. The entire process only took a couple of hours, well a little longer since I had to cut one of the rods with a hack saw to make it fit.

I have tried to include some pictures, but have you ever tried to take pictures of a closet? This first picture is an elevated shot. The top row of cloths that you see has another entire row below them. The other visible row a little lower and to the right are for full length clothes. Between them I put in two sets of 16 inch wide shelves.

This next picture is taken from the other angle. You can see the double level of clothes and I also put a double stack of corner shelves in the back corner.

The project isn't quite done yet since I don't have a place to put my clothes yet. The plan is to put in a double tall eleven inch shelf and put across a double bar for my cloths.

Oh, we also put in a four rack shoe rack... neither of use are really into shoes so a small one was good enough for us.

One other cool thing is that I purchased my first wireless hand power tool. I have always wanted to get them but never have. I purchased a drill to help with the assembly. It worked out really nice.

When the closet is finished I will try to take several shots and stitch them together for a 360 degree view.
